Star Trek: The Original Series 1x22 “Space Seed”
Food: Food Cubes, Celery, Blue Drink, Coffee
Rating: 8/10 not much has to be said anymore on the topic of food cubes. I am however a bit sad that even in the utopic future of TOS a small amount of food on a fancy small plate = special occasion food. At least here, money isn’t a concern. I dislike expensive restaurants serving you tiny amounts of food. (Shoutout to the pub in my neighborhood that serves huge plates of spaghetti for 4€!) 6/10 for the celery sticks. Celery is alright but the great thing about it is usually the act of dipping it into something. Here it looks like it comes with the dip already on it – and only on one end of it. I prefer every bite to have some hummus, for example. 10/10 for the aperitif. Nothing better than some coffee and liquor for digestion after a meal. Perhaps this is Romulan ale? It has been blue in other Treks, if I remember correctly. Another interesting thing here is the table cloth. It’s made out of the same fabric as the bedsheets in the crew quarters and in sickbay. Very utalitarian.
