I kinda miss how old Trek shows would just reuse actors without any explanation. Like, there’s an episode of Enterprise with Rene Auberjonois. Not as Odo, not as relative of Odo or one of his people, just as some random guy.

Or like how in TNG, Marc Alaimo plays a Cardassian captain. And then they brought him back in DS9 in an ongoing role as a Cardassian captain, but now he’s a different Cardassian captain.

Can you imagine if they tried that nowadays? If Frakes or Sirtis were in Picard, but not as their TNG characters, just as random people? And there was no explanation or excuse given, you just had to accept that yeah, sometimes there’s characters that look exactly the same as other major characters, but it’s not important and not worth ever mentioning. It’s just a thing that happens because space is crazy, yo.
