Come watch some TOS with trek-tracks!
On Sunday, April 5th, starting at 3pm EDT, we’ll watch two or three TOS episodes and make merry on CyTube. All you need is the link at the bottom of this post, and you can create a guest username to comment; no login required.
I will be taking suggestions for episodes and other content starring TOS actors (want to watch a weird obscure movie starring DeForest Kelley? We just might!) on this post or by message. Anything we watch has to be available on YouTube or DailyMotion or a site like that.
A reminder that we’re going for loving snark rather than cruelty or hating, which is no fun. Be kind to one another, and punch up, not down (the latter won’t be tolerated). This is not a restricted event, and the intention is to keep talk PG-13, but please be aware that it is intended primarily for adults.
Let me know if you’re coming, or just drop in!

Please take this poll on which episodes you’d like to watch, and comment if your faves aren’t on it.
Anonymous asked:
Do you (or your followers) have any recommendations of the best garashir episodes?
dont worry anon i got you covered
imo some of the best garashir episodes are:
s1.ep3 past prologue
s2.ep5 cardassians
s2.ep22 the wire this is THE episode to watch
s3.ep18 distant voices
s3.ep20 improbable cause (worth it for the intro but just in general a very very good episode)
s4.ep9 our man bashir another iconic episode
s5. ep14+15 in purgatory’s shadow/by inferno’s light (angsty)
it’s harder to list some of the later episodes because they are plot heavy and only have quick hints of good garashir content (also the writers really tried to play down the dynamic) but those are some good ones

Did y’all know Nana Visitor was in a sitcom in the nineties pre-Trek with Sandra Bullock? It was based on that one movie with Sigourney Weaver and Harrison Ford (but featured nobody from that movie, obviously), only lasted one season, and all that remains on the internet of it is a single episode mysteriously up on Youtube.
Anyway, this promo shot is spectacular in every way and was giving me such strong delightful Kiradax vibes I had no choice but to follow through.

What does liquid polymer taste like?
This is a great opportunity for me to point out that liquid polymer is, in fact, what Data drinks as a “food” supplement. From Season 3 Episode 13 (Deja Q): “I occasionally ingest semi-organic nutrient suspension in a silicone-based liquid medium.“ (Also, from Wikipedia: Silicone is any of a number of polymers that include any synthetic compound made up of repeating units of siloxane.)
So, either Geordi accidentally picked up the wrong glass once (or willingly decided to drink what is essentially rubber - which is, in itself, pretty funny), or he knows what it tastes like because he and Data have made out at least once.
Quark’s and Rom’s quarters, as seen in Prophet motive and Body parts.
Personality wise this is very on point. Quark’s quarters are impersonal and everything is made from gold and leather. Rom’s is messy, has comfortable seating for multiple people because he actually has friends and the wall hangings looks like finds from the thrift store on the dark side of Bajor’s fifth moon.
