Guys. Chill a minute.

Some examples of content that would require a community label: Fanart of your favorite ship engaging with each other in…a very private moment. (How private?) Euphoria GIFs showing Rue’s substance abuse . A movie trailer depicting graphic war scenes. A graphic 50 Shades of Grey edit. (how graphic?)ALT

They didn't actually say "pornographic" or "sexually explicit." In none of their examples did they state that you can show specific bits or specific acts; y'all are assuming.

This doesn’t change our content policies: spam, hate content, and porn bots are still not welcome in the community. It’s also still important that we abide by app store rules, which means we need to make sure that mature content is only accessible to people who are old enough and have opted in to view that type of content. More information about Community Labels is available in the Help Center. (Emphasis: This doesn’t change our content policies.)ALT

They DID say they haven't changed their content policies.

Adult Content. Don't upload images, videos, or GIFs that show real-life human genitals or female-presenting nipples —this includes content that is so photorealistic that it could be mistaken for featuring real-life humans (nice try, though). Certain types of artistic, educational, newsworthy, or political content featuring nudity are fine. Don’t upload any content, including images, videos, GIFs, or illustrations, that depicts sex acts. For more information about what this guideline prohibits and how to appeal decisions about adult content, check out our help desk. (Emphasis: "genitals or female-presenting nipples," "sex acts.")ALT

Their content policies still say no realistic genitals/"female-presenting" nipples and no sex acts.

This isn't the first time they've made an update that implies you can post more explicit material without actually changing their rules.

The rules haven't changed. We're still not allowed to post the things we haven't been allowed to post. This might be a prelude to revoking the porn ban; or it might just be a new tool for us to self-filter the content we were ALREADY allowed to post, with no plans to broaden the kinds of explicit content we can post.

Don't start celebrating until the rules change.

Important for my fellow spicy artists.

How I learned to slowly start loving myself: I normally put on Slaughter To Prevail or Slipknot or something, shout along loudly and long-ly, then stare at stupid haggard face in the mirror as intensely as possible and tell myself I’m a fucking king. It’s cathartic, it helps me work through my intense self-hatred, and after a while I start to believe it. I dunno, works for me 🤷‍♂️

i’m writing this all down
