so, like- first of all:

  • how sweet is it that kirk’s so sure that spock left him a secret message in that book

and second of all-

  • i never put a lot of thought into that quote and what kirk meant by it … but if he’s taking it as something spock was trying to tell him way before the trouble began, and it’s about ‘being in a place that’s better than anything he’s ever known’ and ‘doing something better than he ever has before’… and if spock gave the book to kirk, meaning it to be for kirk… then like-… what if he’s taking it like… being with kirk was the ‘better thing he’s done than he ever has before’… and that spock was content and happy and could go to ‘a better resting place than he’s ever known’… because he finally knew happiness, thanks to kirk !???

THIS IS SUCH A DIFFICULT THEORY TO DESCRIBE, BUT DO YOU KINDA GET ME?!!

#was this the part you knew you were burning bridges #was this where you realized your need for revenge was greater than your need to continue as captain #and that all your new hopes and dreams #you could bury with Pike #because you remember the dinner we had after you were given the Enterprise right? #and the point where you gave Scotty his commission as Chief Engineer #and the smile he wore then #and now here you are #taking it away #because he wants you to stop and think #when all you want to do #chase the murdering bastard back here and throw him from the sky #watch him burn up in the atmosphere before he ever hits the ground #even if it means you burn with him (imadoctornotablog)
