what she means: the whole conversation between mccoy and spock while spock is wounded is even more fond when u remember the fact that not twenty minutes later spock mentions how he gave nyota (his ex lover) a necklace as a symbol of his affection and respect for her and mccoy makes a quip about how he’s glad that spock doesn’t respect him eVEN THOUGH SPOCK MADE SURE TO MAKE IT CLEAR THAT HE HAS ALWAYS HAD GREAT RESPECT AND ADMIRATION FOR HIM and after mccoy makes his little comment to lessen the tension spock raises an eyebrow because he knows for certain that mccoy is aware that he does in fact respect him and it’s an inside joke between them that follows through until the end of the movie
