the star trek fandom right now:

I’m waiting with my judgement until I’ve seen it. The thing is, if Trek in the 60s had had the technology (and budget) the way shows have today, I bet TPTB would have made aliens more alien. This week’s alien with a funny forehead is a Trek thing, so trying to break with that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The thing we don’t want is for Klingons to be more like animal predators. That would be a mistake.

The point is that the designs from TNG/DS9/VOY/ENT were good enough as is, and all of those were the intended designs that TOS never had the budget to do. This change was UNNECESSARY. Now we have to retcon YET ANOTHER canon Klingon design for no reason.

wowie my birthday is in a week??? how wild!!

So like the library I work at is pretty old and we have a little museum in the upstairs that tells about my city’s history yadda yadda anyway the museum coordinator was talking to my supervisor about wanting to create a graphic novel of the city’s history (cue me coming into work in the mid of their convo) and they come up to me and was like ……. would u wanna help out with designing and probs drawing some of it??????? Since I’m the “library’s artist” And I’m like !!!!!! Holy shit like they want to have a sit down meeting with me and kinda plan what direction to go with the book and like I’m so pumped and happy that they trust my opinion and artistic abilities but like bruh I’ve never drawn or made a graphic novel in my life my dudes

Peter and I tested out our cosplays for Anime Boston!

I have a better wig on the way that I’ll actually be able to style bangs and he’s gonna wait until it’s closer to the con to shave his beard but honestly????? Not half bad for now??? We mostly just wanted to test our makeup

“ART SKILL” Is subjective, someone might have a worse grasp on anatomy & technique but great ideas or grasp of color/design, or vise versa. someone might be INCREDIBLE at drawing detailed anatomy but be completely shit at composition and color theory.

The only thing that makes someone a “bad artist” is if they have a shit attitude.

people are reblogging this post & it makes me glad to see people being aware of their strengths/weaknesses in art cus being aware at both what you are good at and what you are bad at is how you improve as an artist
