This scene makes me cringe, the way Lorca says “I would never ask you to do that”
This is some spot on manipulation. He already practically forced those hundreds of jumps out of him, at a great risk to his personal health and safety. And was well aware of how dangerous it was.
But he was clever and suductive, saying things along the lines of ‘think of all we’ll get to explore when this is over’ and ‘everyone will die and it will be your fault if you don’t do this’
Then when it’s all said and done, Lorca with his crocodile smile looks at him and has the gaull to say “I would never ask you to do that”
That is some top tier manipulation right there. Making everyone feel like the captains orders are actually their decisions and choices, and making them bevlieve he the captain would never put them in harms way.
And don’t even get me started about how he talks about sacrifice, and calling people heros for things he’s ordered them to do…
