i liked the episode shore leave. don’t think this is exactly how it happened. had a busy week, it’s late. aren’t they all? i feel like spock needs more of a focus in my comics, he hardly speaks, even though i love him so.

I love how data doesn’t realize with well-known phrases or idioms that you can’t really swap out words with synonyms
like when he says “ignite the midnight petroleum” or “pursuing an untamed ornithoid without cause”
those mean the same thing as “burn the midnight oil” and “a wild goose chase” and yet it just doesn’t work like that
and I love data for it anyway

I almost put Scottie in a jumpsuit and Sulu in a dress uniform just to show off the full range of uniforms, but in the end I went with regular duty uniforms for everyone.
