No, I can’t agree with this. For Neelix to be abusive, he’d have to be… successful in his abuse? I mean, he does, at the most, try to influence what she does, but… Kes never really lets him. I mean most times he tries to control her, she’s perfectly capable of putting her foot down and defending her boundaries. She doesn’t behave like a naive, clueless person who doesn’t know where her boundaries are. She knows and she doesn’t let Neelix cross them. I agree he has a tendency to be, uh, a bit overly protective, but I wouldn’t call it abuse.

Uuuuuh I’m sorry but like???? Just because kes can stand up for herself doesn’t automatically mean neelix isn’t abusing her?????? It doesn’t mean shit if it was “successful” or not????? He’s still trying to control what she does and who she talks to???? You don’t have to be naive and clueless to be abused. You can know EXACTLY what’s going on and what your boundaries are and still be abused by somebody. That’s still emotional abuse my pal, trust me, I know. As somebody who has been constantly emotionally abused by her mom, as somebody who has STOOD UP to that emotional abuse multiple times, I can confidently say that just because I fought back to that abuse, it still makes it… very much “successful” soo uuuuuuh are we done here?
